In our first concert of the season — and after just four weeks of the academic year — Motet Choir joined forces with the University Chorus, Women's Ensemble, and Chicago Men's A Cappella to serve musical amuse-bouches stretching across time from the Renaissance to the present day. The program also served as a preview of our major tour of the East Coast in December.

A Hyde Park holiday tradition since 1930, presented this year with some new surprises. A joint performance with Chicago Men's A Cappella and the Rockefeller Chapel Choir and Orchestra, this festive and majestic program consistently fills the chapel to capacity!
East Coast Tour
Saturday, December 12, 2015 - Friday, December 18, 2015
This year, Motet Choir undertook its most exciting tour to date, involving about 1,500 miles of travel and six concerts, among other informal performances. See the tour page for details.
Homecoming Concert
Friday, January 15, 2016, 7:30pm
Cathey Learning Center (Harper Memorial Library)
Returning triumphant from our December tour of the east coast and a well-deserved winter break, Motet Choir presents our tour program (with a few exclusive twists!) for our "home crowd" in Chicago.
Evensong
Tuesday, March 1, 2016, 4:30pm
Rockefeller Memorial Chapel
Motet Choir sings the hauntingly beautiful Choral Evensong of the Anglican tradition, featuring Herbert Howells' Collegium Regale. Come for half an hour of contemplative rest, whether you're honoring the Lenten season or simply wanting to shift your focus before your final exams. And since this comes at the usual Tea & Pipes time at the Chapel, you'll find tea and biscuits available from 4pm onwards. The music begins at 4:30pm.
University Choral Union
Saturday, May 28, 2016, 7:30pm
Rockefeller Memorial Chapel
University Chorus, Motet Choir, and Women's Ensemble join forces for the final Choral Showcase of the year! Free. Presented by the Department of Music. Motet will be singing beautiful love songs in the spirit of the French chansons of the early twentieth century, including pieces by Ravel, Barber, Hindemith, Poulenc, and Eric Whitacre.

The final concerts of the University Symphony Orchestra's 2015-2016 season - to be presented in conjunction with the University's Alumni Weekend 2016 - will feature the world premiere of Ricardo Lorenz's "Cátalogo Fantástico," commissioned by the Department of Music in tribute to long-time Music Director and Conductor of the University Symphony Orchestra, Barbara Schubert. The orchestra will also perform Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Op. 96 and Ravel's Daphnie et Chloé (Symphonie chorégraphique), 2me Suite, with Motet Choir and University Chorus.
